For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?

This is my verse for today. I thought I would share it with you.

He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Isaiah 40:29,31 (AMP)

It’s not only God’s will to save us from sin. He also healed us. He gave us power and strength… He delivered us from our sin. “But to those that “wait” for the Lord…” He makes us whole…healing is a part of salvation.

LOOK UP THESE VERSES  (You won’t regret it! 🙂 ) –

  • Psalm 103:1-5
  • Psalm107: 17, 19-21
  • Isaiah 53:4-5
  • Jeremiah 17:14

The word salvation in Greek is- SOZO- meaning nothing broken, nothing missing.(Romans 1:16, Romans 10:10-13 for example)

“Your faith cannot operate beyond your knowledge of His Word.”

– Gloria Copeland

Notice it does not say we will not have times of feeling weak (faint and weary), or feeling worn out/exhausted  (no might). It says that as we expect, trust and rely on God,  look for find out what His word/promises are concerning our situation, and hope in Him, apply stand, receive, take what He says as the Truth. Our strength and power will be renewed.

Two things to always remember:

  • It is Gods will to heal and restore us.
  • Gods Word never fails.

SAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE
For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

  Romans 10:10 (AMP)

Declaration/ConfessionSay it out loud and receive it!

*You give power to me when I am faint and weary. In my weakness, You increase strength in me.I wait for You [expect, look for, and hope in You] and You renew my strength and power. I will lift up with wings of strength and rise as an eagle. I shall run and not be weary, I shall walk and not faint or become tired.                                                                                         ( Isaiah 40:29, 13 personified)

For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?
But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins and remit the penalty, He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your sleeping pad and go to your own house.
And he got up and went away to his own house.
Matthew 9:5-7 (AMP)

ALWAYS ON

God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him.

2 Chronicles 16:9b  (Message Bible)

BE MINE :)

When I was in elementary school( before Pintrest), we would make Valentine folders, and hang them on the wall. When class was over we would take a list of  names home with us to make a Valentine cards. Mom would buy a box of assorted cards for me to use. Nowadays you can get them at the dollar tree! On the day of the party we play games and pass out the cards/candy. It was a fun way of making each child feel special/they were valuable. My fondest memory of Valentines day however, was the way my parents celebrated it. Mom would cook something we all (six of us) enjoyed eating, and later that evening, dad would call us all together, and  give us a small heart shaped box of candy or the Whitman sampler chocolates along with a hug as he said ,”Happy Valentines Day!”.

1.)  a sweetheart chosen or complimented on Valentine’s Day  2.) A gift or greeting sent or given especially to a sweetheart on Valentine’s Day; especially :  A greeting card sent on this day. Something (as a movie or piece of writing) expressing uncritical praise or affection : tribute (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

This Valentines weekend write a Valentine to Jesus/God. Make one up or find a verse that says what you want to tell Him. Get creative with it.

How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of pride overtake me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Psalm 36:7-11 (AMP)

PS.  I LOVE YOU JESUS 🙂

WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:16 (NKJV)

This month I want to focus on LOVE. Why not everyone else is! 🙂 If  you look around the stores right now (in the U.S.A.) you will see stuffed animals in white, red and pink. Heart shaped boxes filled with chocolates. It is also the time of year retailers sell the most red and white roses.

What does love mean to you? Do you see yourself receiving or giving the things just mentioned? Does someone special come to mind? So what does God’s word say about love?……Everything! It’s what it is all about!

Every time  I think of love, I hear the Tina Turner song, “What’s love got to do with it?”,  it has a catchy tune. Why I think of this song is a long story for another day. The chorus of the song says:

“What’s love got to do, got to do with it
What’s love but a second hand emotion
What’s love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken”

The Love we are looking at today is not, ” second hand emotions,” as the song says. In fact it is not an emotion at all! Nor is it an it!…. Confused? Love is a being who is all powerful, and through Him all things are held together.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)

He heals, not hurts (breaks), the broken heart.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

Psalm 147:3 (AMP)

Who promises to rescue, protect and shelter you and I from the “storms of life” when we abide and obey/trust Him. ( All of Psalm 91 is a good chapter to memorize)

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.  [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

Psalm 91:1-4 (AMP)

In Him love is perfected (made complete). Only through Jesus Christ ( God’s Son) can we have and know True LOVE.

In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

1 John 4:9-10 (AMP)

We love Him, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 (AMP)

For further reading enjoyment read the book of 1 John. It is only five chapters long. It is one of my favorite reads.

“IT” – WHAT YOU ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR WHEN YOU PRAY!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

*  “Congress recommends a day of…thanksgiving and praise so that the people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts…and join…their prayers that it may please God, through the merits of Jesus Christ, to forgive our sins and…to enlarge His kingdom which consists in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

– Continental Congress, 1777

As we give thanks to God we acknowledge that He is our source of provision and life. And it also opens to us the blessings of God to come upon us. When we pray before eating we are not asking/saying the blessing. We are giving thanks to God for His blessing in our lives. May you be blessed today and all season long. Whatever you do today, hanging out with family and friends around a feast,     watching football or going shopping, remember, you are a blessing someone gives thanks for! HaPpY ThAnKsGiViNg!!!

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)

Thank God, Eat turkey, Watch football, Shop, Repeat

What does Thanksgiving day mean to you?

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Psalm 33:12 (NKJV)

What does Thanksgiving day mean to you? Is it a day of cooking and cooking? Or do you let someone else do the cooking? Is it a day of parades, food, and football? Or are you getting ready to “shop till you drop”? All these things are fun and I have to admit I have done them all, well accept letting someone else do the cooking. I worked in retail for 15 years through the shopping frenzy, and I actually enjoyed it! On TV the cooking shows are all about “the big day” and show you how to cook a turkey, as well as what to do with leftovers, while the commercials are more about Christmas shopping than they are about Thanksgiving.

On September 6, 1620 the pilgrims came to the new world. After many hardships, where  almost half of them died, they had a miraculous harvest with the help of the local Indians. In December 1621 they declared a three day feast to celebrate God’s provision. As we enter into the “season of thanksgiving”, let’s remember to give thanks to God for all He has provided for us.

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)

*From  the first ever Thanksgiving Proclamation on October 17,1789, George Washington stated:

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of the Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His  benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”
