For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?

This is my verse for today. I thought I would share it with you.

He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Isaiah 40:29,31 (AMP)

It’s not only God’s will to save us from sin. He also healed us. He gave us power and strength… He delivered us from our sin. “But to those that “wait” for the Lord…” He makes us whole…healing is a part of salvation.

LOOK UP THESE VERSES  (You won’t regret it! 🙂 ) –

  • Psalm 103:1-5
  • Psalm107: 17, 19-21
  • Isaiah 53:4-5
  • Jeremiah 17:14

The word salvation in Greek is- SOZO- meaning nothing broken, nothing missing.(Romans 1:16, Romans 10:10-13 for example)

“Your faith cannot operate beyond your knowledge of His Word.”

– Gloria Copeland

Notice it does not say we will not have times of feeling weak (faint and weary), or feeling worn out/exhausted  (no might). It says that as we expect, trust and rely on God,  look for find out what His word/promises are concerning our situation, and hope in Him, apply stand, receive, take what He says as the Truth. Our strength and power will be renewed.

Two things to always remember:

  • It is Gods will to heal and restore us.
  • Gods Word never fails.

SAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE
For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

  Romans 10:10 (AMP)

Declaration/ConfessionSay it out loud and receive it!

*You give power to me when I am faint and weary. In my weakness, You increase strength in me.I wait for You [expect, look for, and hope in You] and You renew my strength and power. I will lift up with wings of strength and rise as an eagle. I shall run and not be weary, I shall walk and not faint or become tired.                                                                                         ( Isaiah 40:29, 13 personified)

For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?
But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins and remit the penalty, He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your sleeping pad and go to your own house.
And he got up and went away to his own house.
Matthew 9:5-7 (AMP)

WHAT WAS GOD THINKING WHEN HE CREATED YOU?

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV)

You have a purpose! He has the plan! 🙂

IN A FIX?

I like those airline commercials where it shows the person in a fix and the announcer comes on and says, “Need to get away?” I think I could get their frequent flyer miles on that one! 🙂

Hope in God will never leave us in a fix! We can take refuge by spending time in prayer, and looking in the Bible for the promises God has given us concerning the situation we are in.

GOD IS our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, 3 Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult.

Psalms 46:1-3 (AMP)

Matthew Henry wrote:

This psalm encourages to hope and trust in God; in his power and providence, and his gracious presence with his church in the worst of times. We may apply it to spiritual enemies, and the encouragement we have that, through Christ, we shall be conquerors over them. He is a Help, a present Help, a Help found, one whom we have found to be so; a Help at hand, one that is always near; we cannot desire a better, nor shall we ever find the like in any creature. Let those be troubled at the troubling of the waters, who build their confidence on a floating foundation; but let not those be alarmed who are led to the Rock, and there find firm footing. Here is joy to the church, even in sorrowful times. The river alludes to the graces and consolations of the Holy Spirit, which flow through every part of the church, and through God’s sacred ordinances, gladdening the heart of every believer. It is promised that the church shall not be moved. If God be in our hearts, by his word dwelling richly in us, we shall be established, we shall be helped; let us trust and not be afraid.

—Matthew Henry Concise

We can take “refuge” as we rest in the promises God has given us in His word (a very present and well-proved help in trouble)
