For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?

This is my verse for today. I thought I would share it with you.

He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Isaiah 40:29,31 (AMP)

It’s not only God’s will to save us from sin. He also healed us. He gave us power and strength… He delivered us from our sin. “But to those that “wait” for the Lord…” He makes us whole…healing is a part of salvation.

LOOK UP THESE VERSES  (You won’t regret it! 🙂 ) –

  • Psalm 103:1-5
  • Psalm107: 17, 19-21
  • Isaiah 53:4-5
  • Jeremiah 17:14

The word salvation in Greek is- SOZO- meaning nothing broken, nothing missing.(Romans 1:16, Romans 10:10-13 for example)

“Your faith cannot operate beyond your knowledge of His Word.”

– Gloria Copeland

Notice it does not say we will not have times of feeling weak (faint and weary), or feeling worn out/exhausted  (no might). It says that as we expect, trust and rely on God,  look for find out what His word/promises are concerning our situation, and hope in Him, apply stand, receive, take what He says as the Truth. Our strength and power will be renewed.

Two things to always remember:

  • It is Gods will to heal and restore us.
  • Gods Word never fails.

SAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE
For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

  Romans 10:10 (AMP)

Declaration/ConfessionSay it out loud and receive it!

*You give power to me when I am faint and weary. In my weakness, You increase strength in me.I wait for You [expect, look for, and hope in You] and You renew my strength and power. I will lift up with wings of strength and rise as an eagle. I shall run and not be weary, I shall walk and not faint or become tired.                                                                                         ( Isaiah 40:29, 13 personified)

For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?
But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins and remit the penalty, He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your sleeping pad and go to your own house.
And he got up and went away to his own house.
Matthew 9:5-7 (AMP)

EVER LIVING HOPE

With all the stuff going on in the world these days, we need to remember, our Hope is a living Savior king! And through Him we are protected and our inheritance in Him can’t be touched!

Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  [Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, Who are being guarded (garrisoned) by God’s power through [your] faith [till you fully inherit that final] salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (AMP)

Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even] now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy. [At the same time] you receive the result (outcome, consummation) of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:8-9 (AMP)

JESUS IS OUR EVER-LIVING HOPE!

BE MINE :)

When I was in elementary school( before Pintrest), we would make Valentine folders, and hang them on the wall. When class was over we would take a list of  names home with us to make a Valentine cards. Mom would buy a box of assorted cards for me to use. Nowadays you can get them at the dollar tree! On the day of the party we play games and pass out the cards/candy. It was a fun way of making each child feel special/they were valuable. My fondest memory of Valentines day however, was the way my parents celebrated it. Mom would cook something we all (six of us) enjoyed eating, and later that evening, dad would call us all together, and  give us a small heart shaped box of candy or the Whitman sampler chocolates along with a hug as he said ,”Happy Valentines Day!”.

1.)  a sweetheart chosen or complimented on Valentine’s Day  2.) A gift or greeting sent or given especially to a sweetheart on Valentine’s Day; especially :  A greeting card sent on this day. Something (as a movie or piece of writing) expressing uncritical praise or affection : tribute (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

This Valentines weekend write a Valentine to Jesus/God. Make one up or find a verse that says what you want to tell Him. Get creative with it.

How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of pride overtake me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Psalm 36:7-11 (AMP)

PS.  I LOVE YOU JESUS 🙂

WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:16 (NKJV)

This month I want to focus on LOVE. Why not everyone else is! 🙂 If  you look around the stores right now (in the U.S.A.) you will see stuffed animals in white, red and pink. Heart shaped boxes filled with chocolates. It is also the time of year retailers sell the most red and white roses.

What does love mean to you? Do you see yourself receiving or giving the things just mentioned? Does someone special come to mind? So what does God’s word say about love?……Everything! It’s what it is all about!

Every time  I think of love, I hear the Tina Turner song, “What’s love got to do with it?”,  it has a catchy tune. Why I think of this song is a long story for another day. The chorus of the song says:

“What’s love got to do, got to do with it
What’s love but a second hand emotion
What’s love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken”

The Love we are looking at today is not, ” second hand emotions,” as the song says. In fact it is not an emotion at all! Nor is it an it!…. Confused? Love is a being who is all powerful, and through Him all things are held together.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)

He heals, not hurts (breaks), the broken heart.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

Psalm 147:3 (AMP)

Who promises to rescue, protect and shelter you and I from the “storms of life” when we abide and obey/trust Him. ( All of Psalm 91 is a good chapter to memorize)

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.  [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

Psalm 91:1-4 (AMP)

In Him love is perfected (made complete). Only through Jesus Christ ( God’s Son) can we have and know True LOVE.

In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

1 John 4:9-10 (AMP)

We love Him, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 (AMP)

For further reading enjoyment read the book of 1 John. It is only five chapters long. It is one of my favorite reads.

FIELDS OF GRACE

Have you ever felt out numbered? Like the problems you are facing or frustrating thoughts have surrounded you and it seems like there’s no way out?

On June 27,1864 the union army of 100,000 men attacked the confederate army of 50,000 men that were intrenched on the mountain. Four thousand soldiers were dead or wounded that  day but the mountain was not taken; the union lost that battle!

In the Word it is written- Be of good cheer…(John 16:33) …. bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. ( 2 Corinthians 10:5), He keeps him in perfect peace who’s mind is…. ( Isaiah 26:3), Our warfare is not flesh and blood…..( 2 Corinthians 10:4)

As we where singing the song, ” Fields of Grace” one Sunday morning, an image of Kennesaw mountain state park, and the field with a cannon in front of it came to mind.

As a teen this was one of my favorite places to go hang out. My friends and I would take a lunch and we would play Frisbee  in the field, climb the mountain,or visit the museum. This place was once a battle field where 4000 men laid wounded or dead. They weren’t there for a picnic and games!

As I listened to the words of the song,  the Holy Spirit told me that our lives are similar to this place. In the areas of our lives where there are issues, or problems that frustrate us, we are in a battle ; a war zone of sorts.   Through Christ Jesus we overcome these situations and where there was a battle, now there is a place of peace; a field of grace (Ephesians 2:5,8, Isaiah 26:3, John 16:33 Matthew 11:28-29). Even when a person is born again, the old (The battle field) is replaced by the new (The field of grace)! ( 2 Corinthians 5:17)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.

Philippians 4:6-8 (NKJV)

Happy Mother’s Day!

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.  When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her:   “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”

Proverbs 31:25-29 (NLT)

Today is Mother’s Day. Or the day we honor our mother/mom for the things she does all year round and who she is… ya know, the booboo fixer, taxi driver, in home chef, laundry service, shoulder to cry on, makeup artist, one who answers all the WHY? questions, someone who is always praying for you.

Growing up I remember mom singing in the kitchen while she was cooking supper. I would sit in the living room and listen and at times fall asleep to the sweet sound of her voice. Mama could sing! Other times I would try the her patience. I knew I had reached the limit when she would speak in strange dialog and then say all the other kids names before saying mine! Then I would be sent to my room to wait for dad. Through the years my mom and I have shared many wonderful moments that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Today I remember Mom. The love she shared, the wisdom she gave, the memories she made…..the life she lived.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.

Proverbs 31:30-31 (NLT)

CONSIDER THE LILIES

As you grow in your relationship/fellowship with God it will cause you to blossom

READ: Luke 12: 22-32

Consider the lilies, how they grow. They neither [wearily] toil nor spin nor weave; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory (his splendor and magnificence) was not arrayed like one of these.

Luke 12:27 (AMP)

Today as I was out with my dog I noticed that my jonquils are blooming. They appear so fresh and lively after this  unusually cold winter we have had. They are something I enjoy looking at and am reminded that warmer days are coming! As I looked at these flowers I thought about this verse in Luke 12:27. Consider the lilies, how they grow. The flowers in my yard are like the lilies in this verse. I did not plant them, they just come up every year right before spring. The beauty of the flower comes from the seed that has transformed into roots and grows every spring season. When I first moved in to this house there where only a few of them. Now there are several flowers and some of them are in a new location in my yard! Like lilies my jonquils are amazing , the details in the flower itself are something to behold.

GOD DESIRES TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR EVERY NEED!

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.  Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (AMP)

Jesus compares the lilies glory to that of King Solomon. In first Kings 10:4-6 we read about the queen of Sheba coming to see the king because she heard of his wisdom and glory.

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food of his table, the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, their clothing, his cup bearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the LORD, there was no more breath in her. And she said to the king, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom,

1 Kings 10:4-6 (ESV)

The glory King Solomon had came by what he did the lilies glory came by Who God is.

King Solomon used his wisdom to become glorious. He had people bringing him cloths and treasures as well as fine linen and all the best the world had to offer; he earned it (toil spin weave). He was clothed from the outside in; his glory came from other sources. The lilies glory however came from the inside out. We grow through our relationship/fellowship with God. We are glorious because He is glorious in and through us from the inside out; We are glorious because of Who He is not because of what we do! Something else I noticed about my Jonquils, the night and the cold makes them wimpy looking until the sun comes up and they receive its warmth…..Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

“Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?  “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things.  These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need.

Luke 12:27-31 (NLT)
